Thingetarianism
Thingetarianism (thing-e-tarian-ism) is the practice of consuming or creating music that has the thing above any other feature. Thingetarians often listen to music playlists that include songs from many genres, with the defining feature being, well, how defined the music itself sounds of course. Thingetarians for practical reasons will still release music within some restricted genres, but truly deep down, they just want to find The Thing, and the only reason their albums aren't a mix of genres is due to practical reasons, or simply being human and still having some preferred styles, though this may vary depending on how radical one's thingetarianism is, with the highest proposed level involving a musician that is so successful at finding the thing that they are able to reliably create tracks of any given genre with the thing, with personal expression being an inevitability rather than the main goal.
Thingetarianism is distinct from thingilitarianism (thing-ili-tarian-ism), which is the view that the thing ought to be maximized in the universe, eventually resulting in the release of a thingonium shockwave. Whilst thingetarianism describes a musical diet, and thingilitarianism describes an ethical duty, virtually all thingetarians are thingilitarians in practice, simply due to the fact that creation of musical output, particularly that which is released and shared, increases thing awareness in the world.
