A hypermodal system is a set of scales in paramodal relation to each other. It is used for further classification of nonsensical useless scales.

A heptatonic hypermodal system is a set of 2 modal systems, the original modal system and it's paramodal system. It therefore contains 14 different scales.

The best known hypermodal system is the HRMIA. Others include HRMPL (Harmonic Phrygi-Lydian), ZIPH, PELP4 (Paraemili-Laptian Internible), ARCA2 (Arcadian Alternative Second), MPI (Metaprotoiberian), NMD (Nomadic), LDM (Lemodmodian) and AZEPG (Azzurrepogian) hypermodal systems.
