Fizz is a music genre, community and cultural movement started in 2025.
As a genre, Fizz is a type of EDM that comes from Jazz and Bass music. If you take EDM and turn the music theory and sound design knobs up to 100, you’ll get Fizz. Some of the most stereotypical Fizz elements include catchy melodies, basses, dense harmony, sound effects, jumpy bass lines, shredding, chaotic song structure, semi-ironic music theory concepts, and of course drops, but none of those things are requirements.
Music theory and production memes are ubiquitous in the Fizz community, and fizzheads will often use memes to spread Fizz.
Some of the most innovative music being created today is Fizz, and broadly speaking, fizzheads have a principled enthusiasm for music in general. It's roots in Gen Z Jazz and Bass music culture give rise to many different but related core values, All of which can be found on the Torus of Fizzosophy.
The fancy f is the main symbol for Fizz. Many fizzheads include the f in visual aspects of their art, and it’s kind of a tradition to spam the f (or variations thereof) in the live chat when a big Fizz project drops.
